Edinburgh Napier Esports Society - 2023
Colour Scheme
The colour scheme was taken from the society’s pre-existing logo. The logo uses the Napier University red, with the addition of blue for the controller that features within the triangle. The colour codes for each of these can be found on the left.
These colours were desaturated and lightened slightly to create background colours that would ensure any logo overlays would not blend into the background.
Typography
The title font, OCR A Extended, had already been determined by the logo designer as this font was used in the version of the logo which containted the society name.
The Battle for Edinburgh fonts were pre-determined as well, so the committee chose to use the same subheading font, Hydrophilia Iced, to maintain a level of continuity between the society and one of its most important events in the competitive calendar.
Controller Colour Variations
Alternate colour variations of the controller silhouette were created to be used with unusual content, but under the instruction that they be restricted to special occassions to retain a high impact factor.
Background Controller Configurations
The large controller pattern was created for informative graphics that contain mostly text. The colours for each graphic would depend on its timing and purpose.
The small controller pattern was created for graphics that contained other images within them. This could include photographs from socials, highlight screenshots from livestreams, merchandise items or other Esports team logos.
Example Content
This shows some example content that was created for the society, following the brand guidelines I had created. This content was shared on Instagram, Twitter and on television screens throughout the Edinburgh Napier University campuses.
Society Jerseys
The society branding was used when working with Raven to design the player jerseys. These jerseys made use of the main society colours, typeface and large controller silhouette.
